Frequently asked questions

REMOTE CHARACTER CHALLENGE is an online course with multiple users and multiple variants. Expect it to function well at times and less well at others. Assume user error if there is a problem. Try to fix things yourself (use the REFRESH button or ask another guy in your group). Experience shows us that most problems resolve themselves with either a re-think, you try again, or wait a while. Here is some more information to help you. Contact [email protected] if you still can’t work it out. Call Jeff: +1 (317) 372-0652 in an EMERGENCY.

Prerequisite

Please always log in to the program from a browser. Doesn't matter if it's a mobile browser or desktop browser. That way you will get the best possible RCC experience.

How to start the adventure?

As soon as you receive the first email with your login credentials (email address and password) log in to RCC. After the login you will get to your personal participant page. From here you can access the program as soon as it is released (normally Thursday evenings at 21h00). Meanwhile you will find access to this FAQ in the upper right corner of the page. We urge you to read through all of the FAQs so you know what to do if errors or problems occur.

I can't log in and see the screen on the left. What to do?

If you see a screen like on the left after you logged into the system, please click on "No Thanks, Go Back to School" to get to the program.

How to get back to the FAQ page from within the program?

While you are doing the program there is always a little black left arrow in a white circle in the upper left corner of your screen, click on it and you will get to the Course Curriculum and then to your personal participant page (depends on where you are in the program) from there you will have access to the FAQ link in the upper right corner of the page.

I can't continue with the program!

Part of RCC is leaving you in the dark about what might come next so every section builds upon the previous. This means that you won't have access to all of its contents right from the start. The content and therefore your adventure is released one after the other, bit by bit - be expectant! If you experience problems and you can't see the next section please try and refresh your page. Please keep in mind that you NEED TO WATCH THE VIDEOS in order to continue your journey!

What's with this "You will see"?

When we are doing XCCs in the mountains and participants are asking us about what's going to happen next we used to say "You will see" - it's the same here, these are sections of your journey which are not released yet but will become available at certain times. Next to them you see when they are going to be available for you.

I don't see anything in the challenge box!

It might happen that you don't see your progress in the challenge box from time to time, please try and refresh your page.

My screen//pages are "frozen"

Refresh your browser to enable new content to upload.

What if I can’t do a part of the RCC (through injury or no access to the right space, timings etc)?

This course is designed to fit around you. You will know what is possible and what is not. When you are willing but unable or just lazy and passive. If you have tried, but can’t do a section, just move on with the programme and put it behind you.

I don’t know who is in my group

Check your email from Thursday where your group was made known to you. Check your junk mail if you can’t see the email. Contact [email protected] if you still can’t work it out.

The routes you are suggesting send me into dangerous places

Be wise. Correct it yourself and get back on track when it is safe to do so.

I don’t believe in God

No worries. You can still carry on with the course. Ask yourself these questions and try to build your thinking and faith: Why don’t you believe in God? When was the last time you tried to believe in God? What do you believe in? Can you find time to pause to ask God if he is there?
